I fell in love with the picture of this recipe and once I read the ingredients, I was hooked. By the way, I understand you can't even taste the mayonnaise. Recipe & photo: realmomkitchen.com

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded italian-blend cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 or 3 cloves garlic, minced fine
  • 1 - loaf french or italian bread, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped

How To Make cheesy garlic bread

  • Step 1
In a medium-sized bowl, stir together cheese, mayonnaise, butter, and garlic until thoroughly mixed.
  • Step 2
Spread the mixture evenly over the cut side of each bread loaf half. Sprinkle onions evenly over the cheese mixture.
  • Step 3
Place the bread, spread side up, on a cookie sheet or aluminum foil and bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for about 7 minutes.
  • Step 4
Turn oven to broil setting and broil the bread for 3 minutes.
  • Step 5
Tear or slice bread into serving-size pieces and serve hot.
  • Step 6
NOTE: This recipe has been edited. Instead of 1 cup mayo, I have reduced it to 1/4 cup. In my opinion, 1 cup was much too much.
