Apple Cheddar Bread

I love to bake bread, especially on a cold and rainy day or even when it is snowing.
Apples go so well together with cheddar.

2 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup melted butter
3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups peeled chopped apples (used galas)
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (used cracker barrel)
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk


1Combine dry ingredients except apples and cheese.
2Combine eggs, milk, and melted butter.
3Add to dry ingredients. Stir in apples and cheese and nuts.
4Spoon into well greased and floured 9x5 inch loaf pan.
5Bake at 350 for 65-70 minutes. Test for doneness in center. Let stand 5 minutes before removing from pan.
