yer foot in yer mouth!
I created this as a Halloween Sammie Challenge.... They can be made small, medium or large.... The ones pictured here are the large ones. These buns are fun for your Halloween party as a decoration or as a sandwich bun! The small ones are perfect for sloppy joes, sandwiches, dinner rolls. The large ones are great for deli meat sandwiches! *** (If you sprinkle some shredded cheese on the bread just before baking... it gives a great and creapy texture and look.... !) *** The sammie in the photo is an Italian Cheeseburger with jalapeno pepper jack cheese, pasta sauce and onion. Was sooooo good!!!! Tomorrow I told the kids I will make them a "toe jam" sandwich... (peanut butter and jam). http://www.justapinch.com/recipe/colleen-sowa/toe-jam-sandwich/quick-easy-healthy-meat-breakfast-for-kids

How To Make yer foot in yer mouth!
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
Step 2Shape the bread dough into desired shape and size of buns. *** 1 loaf batch of bread will make two very large foot buns, 4 medium-large buns, or 12 small buns.
-
Step 3Place buns on baking sheet about 6 inches apart. Cut the toe end of the bun to form the 5 toes. Spread the toes out a bit. Flaten the foot and toes out.
-
Step 4Using the sliced almonds as toenails is easy... just gently press the fat end of the nut slice into the dough with the pointed end pointing away from the toe tips (as photo shows)
-
Step 5Let the dough feet rise about 30 - 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
-
Step 6Place in oven and bake 15 - 20 minutes (depending on size).
-
Step 7Remove from oven and gently rub with olive oil. Cool completely before using! Make sandwiches or serve as buns and let guests make their own sandwiches!
-
Step 8Fry up a huge burger, top it with cheese, place on bun with pasta sauce and onions!
-
