  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons skim milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1- 8 ounces carton plain low-fat yogurt
  • - vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal

How To Make whole wheat soda bread

  • Step 1
Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; still well. Combine milk, honey and yogurt, stirring well: add to dry ingredients, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. (Dough will be sticky).
  • Step 2
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 3-4 times. Place dough on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray and sprinkle with cornmeal. Roll dough into a 7-inch circle. Make 8 (1/4" deep) cuts in a spoke fashion across top of dough with a sharp knife.
  • Step 3
Bake at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Cut into wedges and serve.
