This recipe is from a Bread Machine Baking Cookbook for 1 1/2 or 2 lb. loaves to make in bread machine. I have tried several and so far, all have been delicious.

    margarine, butter or olive oil
  • 3 c
    bread flour
  • 4 tsp

    active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
  • FOR 2 POUND (22 SLICES)

  • 1 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    margarine, butter, or olive oil
  • 4 c
    bread flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/4 tsp
    active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

How to Make White Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Select the loaf size. Add the ingredients to the machine according to the manufacturer's directions. Select the basic white bread cycle.
  2. Note: The cookbook recommends 1/4 cup water for either size recipe.
