This recipe is from a Bread Machine Baking Cookbook for 1 1/2 or 2 lb. loaves to make in bread machine. I have tried several and so far, all have been delicious.

Ingredients

  • FOR 1 1/2 POUND (16 SLICES)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 teaspoons margarine, butter or olive oil
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
  • FOR 2 POUND (22 SLICES)
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, butter, or olive oil
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

How To Make white bread

  • Step 1
    Select the loaf size. Add the ingredients to the machine according to the manufacturer's directions. Select the basic white bread cycle.
  • Step 2
    Note: The cookbook recommends 1/4 cup water for either size recipe.
