tasty apple bread
This bread is a favorite in our family. It's very festive and is a wonderful breakfast bread or great for a snack. We have enjoyed this recipe many times, and I even sell loaves throughout the holidays. Eat plain or top with powdered sugar and cinnamon or even cream cheese icing and walnuts! Delish either way.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup golden raisins
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 3 medium apples, peeled, cored and grated
- 1/4 cup walnuts (optional)
How To Make tasty apple bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan. Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil. Plump (rehydrate) raisins and cranberries by submerging them in the boiling water.

Step 2Simmer on low for 15 minutes.

Step 3In a bowl, mix the butter and sugars until smooth and creamy.

Step 4Beat in the eggs one at a time.

Step 5In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Step 6Mix into the butter mixture until moistened.

Step 7Stir in the apples, walnuts, syrup, cranberries, and raisins.

Step 8Transfer to the prepared loaf pan.

Step 9Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 10Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
