Step 1preheat oven to 400.

Step 2Beat eggs into milk. Sift together dry ingredients and beat thouroughly into the milk. Bake as soon as mixed in very well greased muffin or bread stick pans. Can also be fried on hot griddle greased with solid crisco.

Step 3TIP-to be successful with corn meal batter breads the pans must be very well greased and the oven hot. Muffin pans made from cast iron are best for corn bread. Ten minutes before baking the pans should be put in the oven to heat. Put 1 tablespoon of lard in each muffin cup and heat till smoking-fill half full and bake until brown.
