- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- dash of red pepper (cayenne)
- chopped green onions (tops)
- 1 tablespoon grated onion
How To Make southern cornmeal hush puppies

Step 1Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat egg well and then add milk. Add onions and red pepper. Mix well.

Step 2Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil (375 degrees) and fry until brown. Drain well on paper towels.
