This is my favorite recipe for stuffing, I got it from Paula Deen's website.

    bread, toasted
  • 1
    saltine cracker crumbs (1 sleeve)
  • 8 Tbsp
  • 1 large
  • 7 c
    chicken stock
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    sage, ground
  • 1 Tbsp
    poultry seasoning
  • 5
    eggs, beaten
  • ·
    pepper, black
  • 1
    pan of cornbread

How to Make Southern Cornbread Stuffing


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, dried white bread slices, and saltines; set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until transparent, approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Pour the onions over the cornbread mixture. Add the stock, mix well, taste, and add salt, pepper to taste, sage, and poultry seasoning.
  5. Add beaten eggs and mix well.
  6. Pour mixture into a greased pan and bake until dressing is cooked through, about 45 to 60 minutes.
