Ingredients
- 7 slices bread, toasted
- 1 - saltine cracker crumbs (1 sleeve)
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 1 large onion
- 7 cups chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sage, ground
- 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
- 5 - eggs, beaten
- - pepper, black
- 1 - pan of cornbread
How To Make southern cornbread stuffing

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, dried white bread slices, and saltines; set aside.

Step 3Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until transparent, approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 4Pour the onions over the cornbread mixture. Add the stock, mix well, taste, and add salt, pepper to taste, sage, and poultry seasoning.

Step 5Add beaten eggs and mix well.

Step 6Pour mixture into a greased pan and bake until dressing is cooked through, about 45 to 60 minutes.
