    1 cup cornmeal
  • ·
    1 cup plain bread crumbs (or plain panko)
  • ·
    4 tsp sea salt
  • ·
    2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • ·
    1 qt size canning jar and lid, with decorative materials

How to Make Seasoned Cornmeal Breading in a Jar


  1. Combine cornmeal, bread crumbs, sea salt and cayenne pepper. Pour into a one-pint glass jar.

    Attach a gift tag with the following instructions:

    Fried Fish Fillets:

    Lightly beat 2 eggs in shallow dish. Dip fish fillets in the egg, shake off excess and then dredge in cornmeal mixture. Pan fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towel-lined plate.

    Serve filets hot with tartar sauce and lemon wedges.
