Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- - sugar, optional (i don't use)
- 2-4 tablespoons herbs, optional
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
How To Make scones (irish soda bread)

Step 1Make a well in the center of dry ingredients and pour in buttermilk. Stir from the inside out, by hand.

Step 2Flour board and hands. Press out and shape dough. Brush top with egg wash. Cut into scones.

Step 3Optional: dip wedges into grated Cheddar cheese.

Step 4Bake 10-15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
