Scones- English Style

Julia Ferguson

These scones just came out of the oven. They smell and look amazing. I love scones and usually have to add either orange or lemon zest to perk up the WOW factor.

  • 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease large baking sheet or line with parchment paper; set aside.
Beat 2 eggs, cream and vanilla in medium bowl; set aside.
  • 2Conbine flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in dates, raisins and orange zest if using. Add cream mixture; mix until dry ingredients are moistened.
