How to Make Scones
- Preheat the oven to 425F. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Sift the flour into a bowl, make a well in the center, pour in the cream and soda. Mix to make a firm dough.
- Roll the dough out and cut with a biscuit cutter. Arrange closely together on the baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes.
- Optional Substitute unflavored seltzer for soda and add some grated sharp cheese, fresh herbs, diced bacon, or chopped sun-dried tomatoes for a delicious, savory scone.
