Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 6 1/2 cups flour, divided

How To Make refrigerator rolls-basic recipe

  • Step 1
    Put in mixer bowl and stir until disolved: the water, yeast, and sugar
  • Step 2
    Add salt, eggs, and shortening and beat well with mixer.
  • Step 3
    Add 3 1/2 cups flour and beat well. Add 3 more cups of flour and stir with a spoon.
  • Step 4
    This must set at least overnight, but will keep for a week. bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • Step 5
    This makes the basic dough for dinner rolls, but can be used for cinnamon rolls, etc.
