In the first apartment we lived in after we were married, a cookbook had been left behind in one of the drawers. It is there that I discovered a recipe that I would continue to use for 30+ years. It makes me smile to think about those early years.

Ingredients

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

How To Make quick pizza dough

  • Step 1
    Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously for about 20 strokes. Let rise about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Using floured hands, pat dough onto pizza pan.
  • Step 3
    Top with sauce, desired toppings and mozzarella cheese or cheese blend. I like to lightly sprinkle the pizza with Italian Seasoning.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 425 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes. Hint: This recipe can be made using dough hooks on an electric mixer or mixed by hand. Our family enjoys this recipe prepared on a baking stone.
