Quick Pizza Dough

In the first apartment we lived in after we were married, a cookbook had been left behind in one of the drawers. It is there that I discovered a recipe that I would continue to use for 30+ years. It makes me smile to think about those early years.

1 pkg
active dry yeast
1 c
1 tsp
1 tsp
2 Tbsp
vegetable oil
2 1/2 c


1Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously for about 20 strokes. Let rise about 5 minutes.
2Using floured hands, pat dough onto pizza pan.
3Top with sauce, desired toppings and mozzarella cheese or cheese blend. I like to lightly sprinkle the pizza with Italian Seasoning.
4Bake at 425 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.

Hint: This recipe can be made using dough hooks on an electric mixer or mixed by hand. Our family enjoys this recipe prepared on a baking stone.
