I borrowed this from Christine Whisenhunt and it really is a very good recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup lukewarm buttermilk
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

How To Make quick buttermilk rolls

  • Step 1
    In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. reserve half of the flour- mix remaining ingredients in separate bowl, then add the yeast mixture to the flour and mix, then add reserved flour and mix well, knead until a soft dough forms and kneads well. In a greased pan , separate dough into rolls or leave whole for a loaf. let rise in a warm place until double. Oven 400 degrees and bake i5 minutes.
