  • 3 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 12 oz
    beer (room temperature, but not flat)
  • 1
    egg, beaten

How to Make Quick Beer Bread - MW


  1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add beer and stir with a fork until just combined. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead quickly to form a ball.
  3. Place bread on a baking sheet and confidently slit an "X" on top with a serrated or very sharp knife. Brush loaf with egg wash.
  4. Bake until golden brown, about 45 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool and serve.
