My friend Barbara gave me this recipe. She is a wonderful cook

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin
  • 1 cup veg. oil
  • 2/3 cup water

How To Make pumpkin nut bread

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients together just til moistened. Bake in 2 greased loaf pans or you can make muffins.
  • Step 2
    Loaf pans - bake at 325 for 70 minutes. Muffin pans-bake for 15 minutes then check
  • Step 3
    let cool for 10 minutes in pan. After dumping onto alum. foil, coat bottom of bread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar. Can freeze. Keep tightly covered.
