How to Make Popovers

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Place eggs in bowl, beat well, add flour and milk, stir with fork until just combine. Some lumps will remain.
Brush the inside cups of the popover pan with the melted butter. (If you do not have a popover pan use a muffin tin.)
Pour equal amounts of batter into each of the 6 popover cups - approximately 2/3 full. Place in oven and bake for 40 minutes until popovers are a medium dark brown. Remove from oven, using a sharp knife make a 1/2 inch slit in top of each popover to release the steam, return popovers to oven for 5 more minutes. This will allow them to crisp. Remove from oven and gently turn popover pan over to release the popovers from the pan. Serve hot with butter and honey.
