- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 3 - 4 tablespoons ice water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
How to Make Penny Pastry Pie crust
- 1Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender. ( I just use a fork.) Add ice water to moisten flour.
- 2Form into a ball. Chill for about an hour. Roll out and fit into a 9-inch pie pan.
- 3Soften butter and spread over bottom of pastry. Sprinkle sugar and flour over butter. Bake at 400 degrees until pastry is brown.
