I found this recipe in my Grandma Williams church cookbook. I thought it was worth sharing for all you onion lovers out there. These are very good! I like to eat these on the side with a bowl of pinto beans....yummy! *Google Pic*

Ingredients

  • - 1 egg, beaten
  • - 3/4 cup sweet milk
  • - 2 cups biscuit mix
  • - 2 teasppons of poppy seeds
  • - 2 cups sweet onions, chopped
  • - 2 tablespoons butter
  • - 1 egg
  • - 3/4 cup sour cream
  • - paprika

How To Make onion squares

  • Step 1
    Blend egg, milk, biscuit mix, and poppy seeds.
  • Step 2
    Turn into 9x9 inch pan.
  • Step 3
    Fry onion in butter until lightly browned.
  • Step 4
    Spread onions on dough.
  • Step 5
    Beat egg with sour cream.
  • Step 6
    Spread sour cream mixture on onions.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 400 for 25 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Remove from oven.
  • Step 9
    Sprinkle a little paprika on top.
  • Step 10
    Cut into squares.
  • Step 11
    Serve warm.
