I don't know where this recipe came from but mom would make then on every hoilday . I can't remember a Christmas dinner without them ...

yield 24 rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 1/2-7 cups sifted flour
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/4 cup soft shortening

How To Make no knead rolls

  • Step 1
    In mixing bowl dissolve yeast in water
  • Step 2
    Add sugar salt and half of flour. Beat throughly for 2 mins.
  • Step 3
    Add egg and shortening. Beat in gradually rest of flour until smooth
  • Step 4
    Cover with damp cloth. Place into refrigerator for few hours or over night .
  • Step 5
    Grease and flour muffen pans . Shape into 3 small balls and place in each muffen cup .
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes or til golden brown
