Friends & family just love this recipe. It has been passed down to many members. Every Thanksgiving or when I have company the first thing I'm asked is "Did you make any cornbread". Well I'll let you decide. It's quite easy & delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c
    white corn meal
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 2 c
    whole milk
  • 4 c
    water
  • 1 stick
    butter, cut in pieces
  • 1 tsp
    salt

How to Make Moms old fashion corn bread

Step-by-Step

  1. All all ingredients to large pot. Start on Med. High heat until mixture starts to thicken. Turn on Med heat & keep stiring until all the mixture starts to leave the pot. Do not stop stiring until ready to pour in a l3x9 baking dish.
  2. Spread mixture in baking dish & bake for approx. 1hr. l5min. until brown on top. 350 degrees. Serve with melted butter. Yummy
