For those that still make bread without a bread maker.

Ingredients

  • STEP 1
  • 1 cup luke warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • STEP 2
  • 2 cups luke warm water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon salt (heaping tablespoon)
  • 1/2 cup saflower oil
  • STEP 3
  • 9 cups flour

How To Make moms honey bread

  • Step 1
    Combine first three ingredients and let stand 10 minutes. Stir until blended.
  • Step 2
    Add next four ingredients and beat.
  • Step 3
    Then stir in flour 1 cup at a time. You may need to adjust flour amount or add a little water at this point to get correct consistency. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Step 4
    Place in a bowl, cover and set in a warm place to rise to double in size, 1-2 hours. Punch down and divide into 3 loaves. Shape and place in greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise again until rounded over top of pan, approx. 1 hour.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
