My family loves cornbread and this recipe is our favorite. It's a non-sweet cornbread making it wonderful for dressing or just eating with butter. In the south, cornbread goes with everything!

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons bacon drippings
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
How To Make mimi's cornbread

Step 1Preheat over to 400 degrees. Place bacon drippings in 10-inch iron skillet or other heavy ovenproof skillet. Put in oven. Mix buttermilk and soda, stirring well. Add salt, eggs and cornmeal and mix thoroughly. Pour into heated skillet and return to oven. Bake for 25 minutes. Don't over bake.
