mexican cornbread

This was my mothers recipe. I have tried many different ones ,but this one is the best. This is from the 70's. It goes great with a pot if pinto beans.

Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 can corn,drained
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 - eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup butter,melted
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3 - jalapeno peppers,chopped
How To Make mexican cornbread

Step 1Mix all together except the cheese and pepper. Pour half of the batter in a square baking dish that has been sprayed with a nonstick spray, add the cheese and peppers and pour the rest of the batter over the cheese and peppers. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until brown on top.
