I got this recipe from my mother many years ago. Every time I made this someone asked me for a copy and my family requested it often. This is really good with chili or any greens. Enjoy!!!

Ingredients For jalapeño cornbread

  • 1 cup
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1can
    corn, cream-style
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 1 large
    jalapeño pepper
  • 1/2 lb
    sharp cheddar cheese , shredded
  • 1/2 cup
    veg oil
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 cup

How To Make jalapeño cornbread

    Mix all ingredients together in large bowl

    Pour into large well greased 13X9 inch pan

    Bake at 450 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean
