I got this recipe from my mother many years ago. Every time I made this someone asked me for a copy and my family requested it often. This is really good with chili or any greens. Enjoy!!!

Ingredients For jalapeño cornbread

1 cupyellow cornmeal

1/2 cupflour

1/2 tspsalt and pepper

1/2 tspsugar

1cancorn, cream-style

1 mediumonion, chopped

1 largejalapeño pepper

1/2 lbsharp cheddar cheese , shredded

1/2 cupveg oil
-
1 tspbaking soda

1 cupbuttermilk
How To Make jalapeño cornbread

1Mix all ingredients together in large bowl

2Pour into large well greased 13X9 inch pan

3Bake at 450 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean
