These are sooo delicious! The cheese melts and looks like telephone wires when you take a bite.

  • 4 slice
    italian bread, 1 inch thick
  • 4 slice
    mozzarella cheese
  • 3 large
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c
  • 3/4 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2/3 c
    italian seasoned bread crumbs

How to Make Italian Grilled Cheese


  1. Slice bread 1 inch thick and cut a 3 inch long pocket in each slice. Place slice of cheese in each pocket.
  2. Beat eggs, milk, Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
  3. Soak bread in egg mixture for 2 min. and then coat with bread crumb mixture. Cook on a hot griddle or cast iron frying pan til browned on both sides.

    Serve hot. Makes 4 servings.
