Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

How To Make irish soda bread in a skillet

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 400º. In a cup or small bowl, stir together the milk and vinegar. Let stand for 10 minutes or until curdled.
  • Step 2
    In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, salt and baking soda. Stir in the curdled milk mixture until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Scrape the dough out of the bowl onto a floured surface and shape into a disc. Place the disc into a cast iron skillet. Bake for 15 minutes or until the crust feels firm to the touch.
