This is a family tradition recipe!! My dad's grandmother was from Ireland and she brought this recipe with her when she came to Texas.

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 - eggs
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make irish soda bread

Step 1Mix flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

Step 2Cut in butter until ressemblesa course crumbs.

Step 3Combine 1 beaten egg,buttermilk.

Step 4Stir till moist

Step 5On a lightly floured surface knead gently for 12 strokes.

Step 6On a greased baking sheet shape dough into 6 inch round loaves.

Step 7Cut a 4 inch cross, 1/4 inch deep on the top.

Step 8Brush with 1 beaten egg

Step 9Bake at 375F. for 35 min.
