This is a family tradition recipe!! My dad's grandmother was from Ireland and she brought this recipe with her when she came to Texas.

Ingredients For irish soda bread

2 cflour

1 tspbaking powder

3 Tbspbutter

1/2 tspbaking soda

2eggs

3/4 cbuttermilk

1/4 tspsalt
How To Make irish soda bread

1Mix flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

2Cut in butter until ressemblesa course crumbs.

3Combine 1 beaten egg,buttermilk.

4Stir till moist

5On a lightly floured surface knead gently for 12 strokes.

6On a greased baking sheet shape dough into 6 inch round loaves.

7Cut a 4 inch cross, 1/4 inch deep on the top.

8Brush with 1 beaten egg

9Bake at 375F. for 35 min.
