Ingredients
- 3-3/4 cup flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/4 cup raisins, soaked in warm water and drained
- 1-1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup margarine, plus 2 tablespoons
How To Make irish soda bread

Step 1Blend sugar and soft margarine, then add egg.

Step 2Slowly add dry ingredients also adding buttermilk until blended.

Step 3Flour your counter, place dough on flour and knead dough a few minutes - add drained raisins.

Step 4Shape into a round form and put in cake layer pan that has been greased or sprayed with cooking spray.

Step 5Brush melted margarine over the top and sprinkle a little sugar over the top.

Step 6Bake for one hour at 350 degrees or until light golden brown and when tapped on bottom sounds hollow.
