dried yeast
1 c
whole wheat flour
4-5 c
flour (i use unbleached)

How to Make Honey Wheat Bread


  • 1mix 2 pkg yeast with 1 and 1/2c of very warm water in a big bowl with wheat flour let sit for about 10-15 minutes
  • 2heat on stove butter, honey, salt and milk til butter melts do not boil
  • 3cool the honey mixture then add to the wheat flour stir until well blended then add flour until a nice dough forms knead until smooth let rise until double in size inside the bowl then remove to a lightly oiled pan(your choice I use a corning ware dish about 9x9) punch down and let rise again until double in size
  • 4bake in preheated oven 325 til done should sound hollow when tapped for about 35-45 minutes
