This was my Mother's recipe for cornbread. She always used honey in it and it was tender, moist, and sweet.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 c
    honey
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten

How to Make Honey-Moist Cornbread

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in remaining ingredients just until moistened. Pour into greased 9 inch square baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
