homemade croutons

I like croutons on my salad, but hate spending the money on them, so I make my own. I have used differant kinds of bread; light and dark rye, whole wheat, sourdough, what ever you have.

Ingredients
- 1 - loaf of bread
- 1 cup oil
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
How To Make homemade croutons

Step 1Heat oven to 425 degrees.

Step 2Cut bread into 1 inch cubes.

Step 3Combine oil (I use olive oil when available)and seasonings into a very large bowl.

Step 4Place bread cubes in bowl and mix until all bread is coated.

Step 5Spread bread cubes out on a baking sheet, in a single layer.

Step 6Bake, stirring halfway through and continue baking until browned. About 20 min works for me.

Step 7When cool place in an air tight bag.
