This cornbread has been in my family for over 100 years. Its really good if you like that brown crust on the bottom. It makes the best Cornbread Dressing. I remember when I was a kid my Daddy would crumble it into a glass and pour milk over it and eat it with a spoon!This needs to be cooked in a Iron Skillet. Recipe can be cut in half if you don't have a large iron skillet.

yellow cornmeal
1 c
all purpose flour
1 Tbsp
baking powder
2
eggs
3/4 to 1 c
milk

How to Make Granny's Skillet Cornbread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Add oil (about a 1/4 cup) to your Iron Skillet and place in a preheated 350 degree oven. Leave it there until you mix your cornbread.
  • 2All all Ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • 3Pour into the hot skillet and bake for 30/45 mins
