Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 - eggs
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 large onion, grated
- 17 ounces can cream-style corn
- 6-8 - green chiles, chopped
How To Make gourmet cornbread

Step 1Combine cornmeal, flour baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl; stir well.

Step 2Combine milk, oil, and eggs in a medium mixing bowl; beat well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add the milk mixture, cheese and remaining ingredients to cornmeal mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.

Step 3Pour batter into a greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
