garlic parmesan crutons

These are quick and easy to make! Not only for salads, but also a great snack!

Ingredients

  • 6 slices day old bread (i used italian bread)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon chives, dried
  • - fresh grated parmesan cheese
  • - fresh ground black pepper
  • - salt

How To Make garlic parmesan crutons

  • Step 1
    Melt butter, add in olive oil. Add in garlic powder stir til dissolved. Add parsley flakes and dried chives. Set aside. Sprinkle in Parmesan Cheese and mix.
  • Step 2
    Cut crusts off of bread. then cut into 3/4" to 1" pieces. Add in the Butter Mixture, make sure to get all pieces coated.
  • Step 3
    Spread pieces onto a baking sheet, making sure to spread apart. Sprinkle with fresh grated black pepper and salt.
  • Step 4
    Bake in a 300* oven for 15 minutes, turn pieces over and return to oven for 15 minutes more. Let cool before serving on salad....or munch on them while warm!
