french breakfast puffs

This is a recipe that my grandma made when we were kids, then my mom and I made them and now we make them for Sunday breakfast quite often. I also make them every time my daugter has friends sleep over. It's always a request of her friends. They are easy and delicious.

Makes 12 muffins
Ingredients
- MIX THOROUGHLY
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- SIFT TOGETHER
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- STIR INTO EGG MIXTURE ALTERNATELY WITH 1 CUP OF MILK
How To Make french breakfast puffs

Step 1Fill 12 greased muffin tins 2/3 full.

Step 2Bake until golden brown at 350 degrees. About 20-25 minutes.

Step 3Immediately roll in 1/2 cup melted BUTTER Then in mixture of 2/3 cup sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
