These little "islands" make a good substitute for biscuits with soup. I like them because they are not as thick as biscuits. So your soup is the star of the dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 5 - egg yolks
  • 12 tablespoons butter
  • - milk

How To Make floating islands

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Cut together flour, yolks, and butter to form coarse crumbs.
  • Step 2
    Add enough milk to moisten so dough can be rolled out.
  • Step 3
    Roll dough thinly on floured surface. Cut into square or diamond shapes.
  • Step 4
    Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 until browned.
  • Step 5
    Place baked islands in serving bowls; then cover with creamy soup.
