These are so easy. No starters to have to feed all the time. They turn out great. They are a big hit.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups all purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1t teaspoon salt
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 cup water, warm
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup oil

How To Make easy sour dough rolls

  • Step 1
    Dissolve yeast in water with 1 teaspoon sugar. Mix dry ingredients flour,baking powderremaining sugarand salt in a large mixing bowl. Add buttermilk and yeast mixture and stir well. Cover and let rise for about 3 hours or over night. Roll out into balls and place on lightly greased cookie sheets. I let mine rise again for about an hour. Then Bake for 10 minutes on 400. Brush the tops with butter when done.
