easy hot rolls

I used to make these rolls for the holiday dinners where I worked. I'm still getting requests for them even though I no longer work there. :)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup crisco
  • 1 - egg
  • 6 1/2 - 7 cups flour

How To Make easy hot rolls

  • Step 1
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar, egg, salt, and Crisco. Mix well.
  • Step 3
    Add flour until dough becomes easy to handle.
  • Step 4
    Place in greased bowl, greased side up. Cover loosely with Saran Wrap and place in refrigerator overnight.
  • Step 5
    About 2 - 3 hours before needed, take dough out and form into balls. Let rise until double in size, then bake for 12 - 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
