Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup milk, scalded
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 1/4 cups sifted flour

How To Make dinner rolls

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl place scalded milk, sugar, salt and shortening, stir. Cool until lukewarm.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, stir yeast into warm water. Stir until dissolved. Stir into lukewarm mixture.
  • Step 3
    Add flour, stir until well blended.
  • Step 4
    Cover with towel and let rise until doubled. Stir batter well, then beat for about 30 seconds.
  • Step 5
    Pinch off and fill greased muffin pans. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes.
