This is an old recipe that my mother used to make all the time. Delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 cup cottage cheese/creamed
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dill seed
  • 1 - egg/unbeated
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 - egg/unbeated
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

How To Make dill bread

  • Step 1
    -Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c warm water -mix together cottage cheese and melted butter, seasonings, egg and onion powder
  • Step 2
    - add yeast mixture -Gradually add flour -Knead for 8-10 minutes
  • Step 3
    - let rise until double in bulk/app. 1 hr. -knead again app. 2 min. -pour into greased loaf pan
  • Step 4
    Let rise again until double in bulk Bake 300 for 50 minutes When done brush with butter and salt
