My mom taught me years ago how to make cornbread, I have never thought about a recipe until someone was in need of one, so here is my cornbread recipe and I will add an option to it for sweet corn bread. Thanks Joan :) Photo will be provided by Joan Klimkowski

How to Make Cornbread (Kat's)

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 400. Use an iron skillet or muffin pan.
  • 2In a mixing bowl add cornmeal, flour, egg and oil. Start adding buttermilk until you get it the consistency that you want ( I make mine just a little thicker than pancake batter). Pour batter into a well greased iron skillet or well sprayed muffin pan.
  • 3Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter when you remove from oven. If you want sweet honey you c an add the honey. Or oh heck just drizzle over a hot piece after it's done :)
