Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 1/2 cups white flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup currents (optional)
How To Make corn scones

Step 1Preheat oven to 375ºF

Step 2Melt butter. Meanwhile, mix brown sugar into the milk then add melted butter.

Step 3In medium bowl, combine cornmeal and flour. Sprinkle in the salt and baking powder and mix together. Add the currents, if using.

Step 4Add milk mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.

Step 5On a floured surface, press dough into and 8 inch circle that's about 1/2 inch thick. Slice circle into eights.

Step 6Separate wedges and place onto a greased baking sheet.

Step 7Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden.
