This comes from my Lou, I have known her forever at this point in our lives. She made this way back in another era I thought OMG what are doing? Well okay I'm off to get into mischief. Later I got to taste such yum and every few years I yearn for it. Finally I have it and she told me about this place too. Happy Lughnasadh!!!
Personal notes: I used more nuts, Ghirardelli un-sweet Dark Coco. I turned the oven off @ 50minutes and let it continue to sit in oven till hit the 1hr 20min part. It is perfect yum with a touch of butter.

  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 1/4 c
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    1/4 1/3 cp unsweeted coco
  • 1 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    peeled shredded zucchini (green one lou says so)
  • 2
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/3 c
    unsalted butter
  • 3/4 c
    pecans (chopped)

How to Make Chocolate Zucchini Bread


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, Grease Bread pan and flour. Sift all dry ingredients in one bowl.
  2. Get another Big O Bowl mix butter and sugar (I suggest the Kitchen Aid) until creamy. Slowly add the rest of wet ingredients
  3. Add the dry ingredients, adding Pecan’s last. Pour into bread pans cook 1 hour 15-30 minutes, checking about 50minutes.
