Ingredients
- 375g/13oz - sultanas
- 50g/2oz - butter
- 375g/13oz - self raising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 250g/9oz - sugar
- 2 - eggs,beaten
- 325ml/12oz - hot water
How To Make canadian malt bread

Step 1put sultanas, butter and water in a pan, bring to the boil and simmer for 4 minutes. allow to cool a little.

Step 2mix together flour, bicarbonate of soda and sugar.

Step 3mix warm fruit mixture into flour mix.

Step 4mix in the beaten eggs.

Step 5grease two 450g/1lb loaf tins and put in the mixture, level the tops.

Step 6Bake in a moderately hot oven, gas 5,375f, 390c,for 1 hour.
