Ingredients

  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 stick
    butter, melted (divided)

How to Make Buttery Cornbread

Step-by-Step

  1. in a large bowl whisk the wet ingredients.
  2. in another bowl mix the dry ingredients...(sift the flour)
  3. combine the wet and the dry ingredients and pour into a oil sprayed baking dish, bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown...can also be checked by inserting a toothpick and having it come out clean.
  4. take out and slice, then drizzle with half of stick of melted butter....serve warm
