Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted (divided)

How To Make buttery cornbread

  • Step 1
    in a large bowl whisk the wet ingredients.
  • Step 2
    in another bowl mix the dry ingredients...(sift the flour)
  • Step 3
    combine the wet and the dry ingredients and pour into a oil sprayed baking dish, bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown...can also be checked by inserting a toothpick and having it come out clean.
  • Step 4
    take out and slice, then drizzle with half of stick of melted butter....serve warm
