My Mother taught me how to make this cornbread and it is delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk corn meal
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt or powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion flakes
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How To Make buttermilk cornbread

  • Step 1
    Grease iron skillet with olive oil. Sprinkle buttermilk cornmeal to cover bottom and sides of skillet.
  • Step 2
    Mix ingredients well and pour into skillet.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 400 degrees until cracks form in bread and it looks done (about 30 minutes). Broil until bread is slightly brown.
