Ingredients

  • 3/4 c
    buttermilk corn meal
  • 1 Tbsp
    mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt or powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    onion flakes
  • 1/4 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp
    parsley
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil

How to Make Buttermilk Cornbread

Step-by-Step

  1. Grease iron skillet with olive oil. Sprinkle buttermilk cornmeal to cover bottom and sides of skillet.
  2. Mix ingredients well and pour into skillet.
  3. Bake at 400 degrees until cracks form in bread and it looks done (about 30 minutes). Broil until bread is slightly brown.
