This is one of my favorites, not only are they delicious but you can avoid some last minute rush because they are made the day ahead and can be finished up and warm from the oven for your meal.... The original recipe was double this (32 rolls)....I modified it for my bread machine.

Ingredients For bread machine dinner rolls

1 pkgactive dry yeast (2-1/4 tsp.)

3-3/4 to 4 cbread flour (closer to 4 cups)

3/8 csugar
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1 stickbutter (1/2 cup.)

1egg, beaten
-
1 cwater, warm
How To Make bread machine dinner rolls

1Put dry yeast in bottom of bread machine. Add flour, sugar, salt, shortening, egg, and water, or in the order recommended by your bread machine manufacturer. Set bread machine on dough cycle.

2After cycle is complete, place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

3Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pinch off a piece and form a 2-1/2" ball. (Divide into 16 balls.) Roll into a rope; shape into a knot. Repeat w/ remaining dough. Place on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. Bake 350* for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.....
